About the Role

WSP is seeking a Vice President of Quality and Audit to lead quality strategy and execution within a designated U.S. business line. The role translates enterprise quality priorities into practical actions that support successful project delivery, strengthen client confidence, and protect margins. Positioned within WSP’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) team, the Vice President acts as the primary quality partner to Business Line leadership, building trusted relationships to understand strategic priorities, key clients and portfolio-level risks. The role collaborates closely with Project Delivery, Operations and Health and Safety leaders to embed quality early, strengthen planning and execution discipline, and elevate performance across the portfolio. Using insights from audits, assessments, client feedback and operational data, the Vice President drives targeted improvement efforts, focusing resources where quality engagement delivers the greatest impact. In partnership with the Business Line Health and Safety Lead, the role supports a strong, integrated HSEQ culture. • Partner with U.S. Quality Director and business line leadership to translate HSEQ priorities into risk‑based actions supporting delivery and business goals. • Serve as primary quality partner, building trusted relationships to understand portfolio risks, key clients, and operational priorities. • Lead and support business line quality activities, strengthening governance, consistency and execution without adding unnecessary burden. • Develop, implement and continuously improve national quality procedures, tools and the Quality Management System, ensuring ISO 9001 alignment. • Conduct Drop‑In Assessments and internal audits, interpret results, drive corrective actions and perform trend analysis. • Provide quality insights and reporting to inform leadership decisions and guide improvement. • Support project delivery through targeted engagement such as high‑risk project reviews, proposal and pricing support, and monthly project reviews. • Coach project teams on quality planning, review discipline and effective implementation of Project Quality Plans. • Identify training needs with Operations and Project Delivery, supporting quality induction and targeted training. • Promote an integrated HSEQ culture, early identification and escalation of emerging quality risks.

What You Bring

Candidates should have 12 + years of progressive engineering, professional services or quality management experience, including enterprise-level leadership, and a proven ability to influence senior leaders in complex matrixed organizations. A deep understanding of project delivery risk, audit interpretation and continuous improvement, strong executive presence, a bachelor’s degree and advanced Microsoft Office skills are required. • 12+ years progressive experience in engineering, professional services, project delivery or quality management, including enterprise or portfolio-level leadership. • Proven ability to partner with senior leadership to influence strategy and decisions in complex matrixed organizations. • Deep knowledge of project delivery risk, quality planning and operational execution in multidisciplinary settings. • Experience leading or interpreting audits, assessments and performance data to drive risk reduction and continuous improvement. • Strong executive presence with influence without authority and ability to build trusted relationships across operations, delivery and shared services. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel). • HSEQ‑related professional qualifications or certifications (preferred). • Experience with internal/external auditing, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 (preferred). • Experience supporting ISO certification efforts and audit coordination (preferred). • Membership in professional quality or safety organizations (e.g., ASQ, IOSH) (preferred). • Experience in large matrixed organizations with diverse portfolios (preferred). • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform, especially Power BI, for reporting and trend analysis (preferred).
