About the Role

• Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations • Prepare specifications, reports, and data tables • Liaise with design and drafting groups • Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required • Independently handle advanced technical assignments under supervision, meeting schedules and budgets • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with other disciplines and departments on assigned projects • Assist in training and evaluating architectural and design/drafting personnel • Review and approve conceptual designs • Contribute to development of new architectural methods and techniques

What You Bring

AECOM seeks a motivated Architectural Job Captain for its Cleveland or Columbus, Ohio office. Reporting to the Project Architect, the Job Captain will actively engage in the collaborative, iterative design process, bring innovative solutions, and coordinate with both architectural and engineering design teams. Strong verbal, organizational, design, and technical skills are essential for success in this role. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Architecture with at least four years of relevant experience, be licensed or on a clear path to licensure in Ohio, and possess knowledge of building systems, materials, and local codes. Preferred qualifications include six or more years of professional experience, strong technical skills in planning and detailing, ability to coordinate across civil, landscape, and MEP disciplines, and proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with construction administration, permitting, and integrating AI into A/E services is strongly valued.

Benefits

The position follows a hybrid work model with no remote‑only option, does not offer sponsorship, and provides a compensation range of $85,000 to $115,000 per year based on education, experience, and location.
