About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load‑lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers that may weigh over 1,000 lb and require skilled backing maneuvers, while residential drivers collect household waste and roll‑off drivers load and move large open‑top containers on industrial routes. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend all required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and identify best practices. • Communicate customer requests and ensure sites are left clean and free of debris after dumping. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist other drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
