About the Role

The Product Design Engineer V provides consultation on project design, equipment engineering systems, and product improvements in line with department procedures. Recognized as a technical leader, the engineer recommends alterations and enhancements to improve product quality and processes. The role collaborates with other departments to ensure final products meet customer specifications and Nikkiso Cryo procedures. • Model pump components using SolidWorks. • Size and select system components. • Design components and systems within the pump product line. • Translate customer needs into functional engineering solutions. • Assist in creating specifications, designs, and test methods for new products. • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing on DFMA, capability, and production rate. • Facilitate studies and research to define scope and develop design solutions. • Act as a Subject Matter Expert. • Resolve complex engineering problems promptly. • Ensure effective communication within the team and across the organization. • Manage project timelines, focusing on critical path and contingency planning.

What You Bring

The position is based in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers and photocopiers. Employees must communicate verbally, focus on close‑up visual tasks, lift files, open cabinets, and stand on a stool as needed, while also operating a computer, typing, and answering phones. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with fluid dynamics and thermodynamics fundamentals. • Technical degree in Mechanical Design & Drafting. • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and test environments. • 15+ years in systems engineering and manufacturing, designing rotating and reciprocating equipment. • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks for 3‑D modeling and 2‑D detailing of large, complex assemblies. • Proficiency in scientific computing, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and rotor dynamics.
