About the Role

The Safety Consultant role involves managing multiple medium-to-large projects and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and health statutes. The incumbent will identify, monitor, and recommend corrective actions for workplace hazards through audits, ergonomic assessments, and interventions, ensuring alignment with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Key duties include providing technical safety consulting, conducting site and crew observations, delivering annual safety audits, and serving as a resource for local safety committees and management. The consultant also develops training materials, delivers regulatory compliance training, and engages management to enhance safety leadership at each location. The Senior Safety Consultant expands on these responsibilities by developing, implementing, and evaluating the employee safety program in partnership with management, authoring company safety policies, and leading health and safety audits. This senior role also emphasizes influencing managerial responsibility for safety and mentoring across multiple locations. • Conduct safety audits, ergonomic assessments, and hazard observations to identify and correct workplace risks. • Lead accident investigations and develop recommendations to reduce injuries and illnesses. • Deliver regulatory compliance training, including new‑hire orientations and annual OSHA courses. • Monitor federal, state, and local safety regulations and advise business units on compliance options. • Support contractor safety management during overhauls and projects, ensuring alignment with company expectations. • Participate in internal and external task forces focused on regulatory changes and continuous safety improvement. • Maintain professional certifications and attend development conferences to stay current on safety standards.

For the senior position, a bachelor’s degree and recognized safety certification are required, along with a minimum of five years of safety experience. Salary ranges are $84,900‑$120,566 for senior consultants and $73,700‑$104,633 for consultants. • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field plus recognized safety certification (CSP preferred). • Safety Consultant: at least 3 years of safety experience; Senior Safety Consultant: at least 5 years of experience. • Preferred experience: electric power distribution, multi‑site support, and data analytics proficiency.
