About the Role

The role involves assisting with layout and performing all types of pipe‑laying installation for water, sewer, and storm‑drain projects in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work is performed alongside other crafts as appropriate to the employee's training and skills, under direction from a foreman or higher‑skilled worker. • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members. • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively at all times. • Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work. • Identify opportunities for improvement in tasks, methods, and means, and be willing to learn from others. • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time. • Read and understand safety and quality standards and effectively utilize trade tools and equipment. • Climb and maintain balance on catwalks and ladders. • Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb on an occasional basis. • Use hands frequently to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.

What You Bring

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is a proficiency in trade mathematics. Candidates must have at least three years of experience in industrial or commercial construction, with a solid understanding of various underground pipe materials such as cast iron, ductile iron, PVC, concrete, and clay. They must be able to interpret safety and quality standards and effectively use the required trade tools and equipment. Physical demands include up to 12‑hour shifts of hard labor in varying temperatures, climbing catwalks and ladders, and occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lb. Employees must regularly use hands for handling, reach above shoulder height, and work in confined or uneven spaces while adhering to all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment. • At least three years’ experience in industrial/commercial construction with knowledge of underground pipe types (cast iron, ductile, PVC, concrete, clay). • Work up to a 12‑hour shift performing hard physical labor in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently; stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally. • Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
