Job Highlights
About the Role
• Review and give feedback on sustainability projects per District and bond program policies. • Implement electrification of central plants and building systems per Clean Energy Resolution. • Apply sustainable building principles to resolve complex system issues. • Support district‑wide energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification. • Utilize LEED and other sustainability approaches to improve operational efficiency. • Interpret and apply Title 24 and ASHRAE recommendations. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project managers to meet requirements and schedules. • Provide technical second opinions for College Project Teams, including peer review of RFCs and change orders. • Travel to project sites for meetings as requested. • Participate in all project lifecycle phases: master planning, design, construction, and closeout. • Perform electrical engineering analyses and prepare technical reports aligning with district design guidelines. • Integrate LED lighting, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart controls.

What You Bring
This Electrical Engineer IV role is bond‑eligible and limited to capital construction, modernization, and sustainability projects under the BuildLACCD Bond Program. Duties exclude routine maintenance and focus on planning, design, construction, commissioning, and project management to meet capital improvement requirements and legal bond restrictions. Candidates who progress will need to submit an up‑to‑date resume, any certifications or licenses, 3‑4 professional references, and a project list with values, dates, and company information. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • 10+ years of electrical engineering consulting experience, focusing on power systems design for facilities. • Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24, NEC, Cal Green Code, and related standards. • At least 2 years of experience in educational facility construction. • LEED certification experience or CHPS involvement. • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum 2 years of DSA or similar jurisdiction experience.

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $126,000 to $132,000 and is a full‑time opportunity.
