• Lead commercial, contract, procurement and tender activities for Defence projects. • Manage acquisition and sustainment contracts across Land, Communications, Navy and Space sectors. • Apply ASDEFCON, Defence Procurement, Commonwealth Procurement and related compliance frameworks. • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to deliver critical national‑security outcomes. • Maintain a Minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance and comply with ITAR where required.

What You Bring
Join our Downer Professional Services team and express your interest in future opportunities within our System Engineering stream. We seek skilled professionals with Defence or Defence‑industry experience to join our permanent workforce and support complex defence and national‑security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. We are looking for professionals with experience in Commercial Management, Contract Management, Procurement Management, or Tenders and Contracting Management. Ideal candidates have previous experience in the Defence or consulting services sectors and have worked in Land, Communications, Navy, Space or other Defence domains. They have led acquisition or sustainment commercial, procurement and contract activities and are familiar with ASDEFCON, Defence Procurement, Commonwealth Procurement and related compliance frameworks. Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and a current Minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance (or higher) are required, with ITAR compliance where applicable.
