About the Role

The Lead Operating Engineer at JLL will lead, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems at two Class A office properties in Lake Mary, Florida. Together the buildings total 310,000 sq ft. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑4 pm, with an on‑call rotation. Day‑to‑day duties include painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting fixtures, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance. You will supervise the preventative‑maintenance program, keep the Prism work‑order system current, and handle tenant service requests. Additional responsibilities involve training and supervising staff, responding to emergency calls, troubleshooting electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls, and overseeing vendors and capital improvement projects. • Operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across two 310,000 sq ft Class A office buildings. • Perform routine tasks such as painting, pressure washing, lighting repairs, plumbing, water treatment, and locksmith services. • Manage the preventative maintenance program and update work orders in the Prism system daily. • Provide training and supervision to expand the Engineering team’s capabilities. • Respond to on‑call emergencies, troubleshoot building systems, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. • Oversee vendors and assist with capital and tenant improvement projects.

What You Bring

Preferred candidates have 3‑5 years of related experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry, and bring trade‑school, union, military or college education. A Universal CFC EPA certification or a commitment to obtain one within the first year is desired. Leadership experience, strong customer‑service and administrative skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to lift 50 lb, use ladders up to 30 ft and perform frequent climbing, bending, and kneeling are required.
