About the Role

The AI Architect role defines reference architectures, architectural standards, and decision frameworks that solution architects use to build AI‑enabled systems across back‑office domains such as HR, Finance, and IT. Positioned within the Operational AI organization, the role ensures AI solutions are designed consistently, securely, and at scale, providing rigorous technical guidance and enforcing enterprise architectural guardrails. The position offers a hybrid work schedule based in either Houston or Dallas, Texas. • Define and own reference architectures for AI across enterprise domains. • Establish architectural standards and guardrails for AI system design and cross‑domain consistency. • Act as primary authority for AI system patterns (e.g., RAG, Agentic Orchestration) aligning implementations with enterprise toolsets. • Provide frameworks, reusable design patterns, and guidance to solution architects and delivery teams. • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, platform, data, security, and AI leadership to ensure seamless integration. • Communicate architectural direction, constraints, and trade‑offs to senior and executive stakeholders. • Evolve reference architectures based on scale, governance requirements, and adoption feedback.

What You Bring

• Hold a BA/BS with at least 12 years of engineering experience, including 4 years of technical leadership. • Demonstrated experience defining and owning reference architectures adopted by multiple teams. • Strong understanding of cloud‑native design, APIs, and security fundamentals. • Experience designing production‑grade AI‑enabled systems such as GenAI, orchestration, or automation. • Proven ability to influence architectural decisions and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. • Preferred: Experience operating at enterprise scale across multiple business domains and background in architectural governance. • Preferred: Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI considerations, and multi‑cloud or automation platforms. • Preferred: Master’s degree.
