About the Role

The Utility Market Manager role is remote in North Carolina and reports to Hitachi Energy. In this position you will lead go‑to‑market strategy across power generation, transmission, distribution and smart‑grid solutions, translating market intelligence into actionable plans and opening new opportunities with utility customers. You will partner with sales, product, engineering and marketing teams, serving as the voice of the customer and a catalyst for growth within the energy transition. You will shape market strategies for utility segments by researching trends, expanding the qualified pipeline and building senior relationships. Working with cross‑functional teams, you will deliver tailored solutions, craft proposals and presentations, and track performance metrics to provide data‑driven insights. What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing or a related field (master’s a plus) and possesses at least seven years of utility sector market management experience, including five years of team leadership. Deep expertise across generation, transmission, distribution, smart grids, renewables and regulatory frameworks is required, along with a proven record of delivering growth through go‑to‑market strategies. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑influence skills, proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce, and willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally are essential. • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree a plus. • 7+ years utility market management experience. • 5+ years team leadership with a proven growth record. • Expertise in generation, transmission, distribution, smart grids and renewables. • Strong analytics, communication and stakeholder influence skills. • Proficient with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft 365. • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.
