About the Role

The Engineering Supervisor oversees daily activities, ensuring strict adherence to DPW GOE/ROE policies while supervising engineering staff. Responsibilities include planning jobs, allocating resources for optimal efficiency, coordinating with planners, and participating in daily planning meetings with the Operations Superintendent. The role also entails conducting staff appraisals and fostering a collaborative work environment. Technical duties focus on comprehensive electrical maintenance of all department equipment, including preventive, routine, and substation upkeep. The supervisor implements backup programs for computers and automation cranes, conducts engineering studies and root‑cause analyses, and creates action plans to minimize crane failures. Regular inspections of emergency generators, lifts, fire systems, and flood lights are performed, and detailed documentation such as breakdown histories, MOC records, and equipment manuals is maintained. Safety and compliance are integral, with duties encompassing safety checks, incident investigations, and coordination with the Safety Manager to resolve safety issues. The role ensures OT security compliance, delivers Buddy and internal training, and leads engineering studies to predict equipment performance. Additionally, the supervisor assists the HOD with various audits (IA, ISO, JNPA‑NSC, risk baseline, insurance) and oversees risk assessments and SOP reviews. Administrative responsibilities include monitoring spares procurement, maintaining critical inventory, and tracking consumption patterns to control costs. The supervisor verifies electrical, water, and contract bills, prepares monthly performance reports, issues work permits, and drives energy‑saving projects. Support for new equipment purchases, knowledge of civil work, adoption of reliability frameworks, and adherence to global engineering KPIs and statutory regulations complete the role's portfolio. • Supervise daily engineering activities and enforce DPW GOE/ROE policies. • Perform electrical maintenance on all department equipment. • Plan jobs, allocate resources, and optimize efficiency. • Develop and implement backup programs for computers and automation cranes. • Conduct engineering studies, root cause analysis, and predictive performance assessments. • Create action plans to reduce crane failures. • Verify completed job checklists and rectify safety defects. • Inspect emergency generators, building lifts, fire systems, and flood lights regularly. • Update breakdown histories, modifications, and prepare Management of Change (MOC) documentation. • Introduce and update preventive maintenance procedures without compromising safety. • Maintain equipment manuals and documentation. • Deliver Buddy and internal training to keep staff skills current. • Investigate workplace incidents and injuries thoroughly. • Coordinate with the Safety Manager to resolve safety issues. • Monitor spares procurement, maintain critical spares inventory, and track consumption patterns. • Ensure OT security compliance and follow related processes. • Test transformers and oversee related maintenance. • Liaise with Purchase Officer on spare part supply. • Work with engineering planners to ensure timely job order closures. • Participate in daily planning meetings with the Operations Superintendent. • Assist HOD with audits (IA, ISO, JNPA-NSC, risk baseline, insurance). • Conduct staff appraisals for engineering personnel. • Inspect, test, and accept newly installed equipment. • Manage warranty repairs and replacement of warranty spares. • Coordinate external repairs when necessary. • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on substation equipment. • Verify electrical, water, and contract bills. • Prepare monthly performance reports. • Issue work permits and review/modify risk assessments and SOPs. • Control equipment repair and maintenance costs, converting fixed costs to variable where possible. • Drive energy-saving projects and innovations. • Support procurement of new equipment and possess civil-work knowledge. • Adopt equipment reliability frameworks and meet global engineering KPIs. • Maintain 100% statutory, regulatory, and global policy compliance.
