About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. This role involves work on chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical control systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering, as well as basic tire services. Technicians enjoy the advantage of servicing a single, state‑of‑the‑art fleet, receiving training on new technologies, and contributing to the community’s transportation needs. Key duties include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on vehicle systems, conducting line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, and providing safe road service to return equipment to operation. Technicians use electronic diagnostic tools to pinpoint malfunctions and complete required company training programs. Additional responsibilities may involve other job‑related tasks as assigned. • Repair and maintain diesel/non‑diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering • Perform basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation • Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions • Conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication • Maintain knowledge of vehicle components and perform preventative maintenance • Inspect major truck systems (suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, diesel emissions) with limited supervision

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of hands‑on experience diagnosing gasoline and diesel equipment or be a recent graduate of an accredited automotive college or technical school. They should be able to inspect major truck systems such as suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions with limited supervision, and possess a valid driver’s license; a CDL and ASE certifications are advantageous. The position offers a $8,000 sign‑on bonus and a pay range of $25.90 to $35.65 per hour, varying by locality. • Minimum 1 year experience diagnosing gasoline and diesel equipment or recent automotive graduate • Valid driver’s license; CDL and ASE certifications are a plus
