About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The position includes commercial, residential, and roll‑off driving, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers and navigation of high‑traffic, congested roadways, driveways, alleys, and lots. Drivers are expected to operate vehicles and equipment safely and reliably, contributing to clean communities while upholding WM’s standards of professionalism and safety. • Operate vehicle in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, provincial, and federal regulations; keep the vehicle clean and safe. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using DVIR and report any issues for corrective action. • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend all required training, briefings, and meetings as directed by WM or the Route Manager. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Notify management of service interruptions such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Fully dump receptacles and leave the customer site clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and perform check‑out procedures. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
The position may require a REAL ID or a TSA‑approved alternative for air travel or access to federal property. • Required: Minimum one year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past 7 years. • Required: At least 18 years old, legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN. • Required: Hold a current DZ, Class 3 or higher commercial driver’s license. • Required: Pass pre‑employment drug screen, physical, background check, and have an acceptable driving record. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical: Ability to stand, walk, crouch, reach, sit, and talk repeatedly. • Physical: Lift, push, pull, and handle loads up to 1,000 lb. • Physical: Perform backing maneuvers in tight spaces and overhead environments.

Benefits
This is a union position at the Kamloops site with a starting wage of $32.33 per hour. The role is a day shift with flexible scheduling based on business needs, considered full‑time but without a guaranteed 40‑hour workweek, and the schedule runs Monday through Saturday.
