About the Role

The engineer will work on bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts for public and private bridge projects throughout the city. They will prepare bridge and structural plans, specifications, and cost estimates for clients. As a critical team member, they will perform a variety of engineering tasks while receiving on-the-job training, formal mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions. • Design bridges, retaining walls, and other structural elements for public and private projects. • Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for clients. • Perform engineering tasks while receiving mentorship, training, and exposure to project finance and client interaction.

What You Bring

Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with more than two years of experience to join the Structures team. This role is on-site and not remote. Candidates need at least two years of experience with a civil engineering design firm and a bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET-accredited program. An Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or the ability to obtain it within 12 months) is required. Proficiency with general structural analysis software, strong communication skills, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are also essential. • Possess 2+ years civil engineering design experience and an ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree. • Obtain EIT/Engineering Intern certification within 12 months if not already held. • Proficient in structural analysis software and possess strong communication skills. • Demonstrate urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
