About the Role
In this role you will lead smaller projects independently while supporting senior managers on major programmes, gaining exposure and development opportunities. You may also line‑manage and mentor junior colleagues and help shape the team’s strategy. • Develop project proposals, defining scope, resources, programme and budgets. • Create and maintain project management plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, schedules and stakeholder registers. • Monitor and control project schedule, staff hours, budgets and expenditures. • Ensure health and safety documentation for site visits and obtain necessary internal approvals. • Manage contract administration and oversee contractual obligations. • Identify, assess and manage project changes and risks in line with governance standards. • Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary environmental project teams and suppliers. • Promote environmental betterment, future‑ready and net‑zero strategies. • Represent the Environment and Consents function with internal teams, clients and stakeholders, building strong relationships. • Apply programme management knowledge, including work breakdown structures, dependencies and critical path, using tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.

We are looking for candidates with proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager, preferably in environment or sustainability sectors, a genuine interest in land‑based sustainable development and a positive, can‑do attitude. Strong communication skills, programme management knowledge, commercial and contractual awareness, and membership of a relevant professional institution are required. • Demonstrate proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager, preferably in environmental or sustainability sectors. • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to keep teams and stakeholders aligned. • Possess commercial and contractual awareness with financial acumen and experience in change control; familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts is advantageous. • Hold membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MRICS) or be working towards chartership.
