About the Role

• Lead and manage multimodal transportation planning projects, including feasibility, corridor, master plans, and economic studies. • Assign, monitor, and mentor project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery. • Integrate transit and program models; develop timetables, train‑chart tools, and conduct operational modeling for new service specifications. • Perform fleet sizing exercises, design O&M requirements, and analyze operating contracts for improvement opportunities. • Conduct public involvement, organize stakeholder meetings, and consolidate feedback into actionable recommendations. • Produce high‑quality deliverables such as graphics, reports, and web‑based products. • Ensure compliance with AECOM standards through QA reviews and champion continuous improvement.

AECOM is seeking an experienced Transportation Planning Manager to join our New England Transit Market Group. Under limited supervision, the role involves advanced and complex duties using economic, financial, planning, and statistical techniques, and requires professional judgment to solve a variety of problems. The manager will have lead responsibility for designated areas and ensure completed work meets objectives. • Required: BS/BA plus 8+ years relevant experience; preferred 10 years transportation experience, PMP certification, and multimodal planning expertise. • Experience as Project Manager, Task Leader, or Deputy PM on significant projects, using concept maps, organizing feedback sessions, and replicating successful models in new regions.
