About the Role
The Janitorial Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for planning, directing, and executing all housekeeping functions at the Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant. The plant operates three shifts and often requires weekend coverage. The role includes overseeing routine cleaning, recycling, and dunnage management. The position offers a salary up to $78,000. The manager oversees hiring, training, performance monitoring, inventory control, and coordination with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective housekeeping. They ensure compliance with HSSE and quality‑assurance standards and provide coverage across all three plant shifts. • Plan, direct, and execute total housekeeping functions, including routine cleaning, recycling, and dunnage management. • Manage hiring activities such as Workday job requisitions, interviews, background checks, and new‑employee orientations. • Oversee payroll, HSSE, and quality‑assurance programs. • Conduct training on custodial procedures and equipment operation for new employees. • Monitor performance of direct reports, enforce policies, and address violations. • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, place material orders, and coordinate building repairs with the maintenance team. • Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklift, tugger, floor scrubber) as needed. • Respond to emergency and routine service calls promptly. • Provide flexible scheduling to cover all three shifts in collaboration with the Operations Manager.

Salary levels consider factors like geographic location, experience, and collective‑bargaining agreements, and the company will not pay less than minimum wage.
