About the Role

Crane Operators work under a Lift Director and handle a range of crane types—including all‑terrain, rough‑terrain, mobile crawlers, hydraulic cranes, and boom trucks—across tasks such as pile driving, beam erection, demolition, concrete construction, and steel erection. Responsibilities include daily inspections, routine maintenance, compliance with OSHA Subpart CC and ASME B30.5 standards, maintaining load charts, participating in lift planning, selecting appropriate rigging, and completing the required safety and administrative paperwork. Operators also provide support to fellow crew members, work various shifts, and ensure all safety protocols are followed. • Operate all‑terrain, rough‑terrain, mobile crawler, hydraulic, and boom‑truck cranes under Lift Director supervision. • Perform lifts for pile driving, beam erection, demolition, concrete work, steel erection, and other heavy‑construction activities. • Conduct daily crane inspections, routine maintenance, minor repairs, and document inspection reports. • Follow OSHA Subpart CC standards, ASME B30.5 hand signals, and radio commands for safe lift communications. • Maintain current load charts and operation manuals, demonstrating proficiency for all crane configurations. • Participate in lift planning, select appropriate rigging, and ensure lifts stay within equipment load limits. • Provide support to fellow crane operators, including overtime, equipment training, and monitoring junior operators. • Complete required administrative paperwork and safety documentation for each shift.

Ideal candidates have pile‑driving experience and are capable of operating an All‑Terrain Hydraulic Crane up to 160 tons or a Crawler/Lattice Boom Crane up to 300 tons. The role is a skilled craft position that moves among various tasks on heavy‑construction projects as workflow demands. Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent and possess at least five years of experience lifting and placing concrete, bridge beams, precast panels, rebar, pipe, and metal components. An NCCCO or NCCER certification is required. The ideal applicant is dependable, self‑motivated, task‑oriented, and able to communicate effectively. • Must have 5+ years of crane‑operation experience and NCCCO or NCCER certification. • High‑school diploma or equivalent required.
