About the Role

The role involves operating various construction equipment to move earth precisely, inspecting equipment, adhering to all safety protocols, following signaler directions, and assessing the work area for hazards and planning operations. When not operating machinery, the employee will assist with other site tasks as assigned. • Operate various construction equipment (e.g., bobcats, bulldozers, excavators) to move earth accurately. • Inspect equipment and complete related paperwork. • Follow all safety regulations and signal directions during operations. • Assess work area for hazards and plan equipment usage. • Assist with additional site tasks when not operating machinery. • Maintain reliable transportation, tools, and a valid driver’s license.

What You Bring

Must have at least two years of experience operating dirt equipment in heavy industrial construction, possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, meet all physical requirements, and have reliable transportation and tools. A valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record may also be required. Candidates must be proficient with equipment such as bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders, have basic mechanical knowledge for inspections, understand soil types and excavation specifications, follow instructions reliably, and complete administrative paperwork. Reliability, accountability, and willingness to work scheduled hours and overtime with proper notice are essential. Preferred candidates are current or former Zachry employees and hold a valid driver’s license. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and occasional work at heights or on scaffolding with fall protection. Employees must communicate effectively, use hands for signaling and handling tools, and work in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE such as a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, hi‑vis vest, gloves, and steel‑toed boots. • Demonstrate 2+ years of dirt equipment operation experience and basic mechanical knowledge. • Understand soil types and excavation specifications. • Lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, and endure all weather conditions while wearing PPE.
