About the Role
As a Gensler Technical Designer you will join a team of architects to transform design concepts into fully documented projects. You will generate technical documentation and keep the lead architect and team informed on progress, ensuring client expectations are surpassed. You will work closely with the Project Architect to create precise technical and contract documentation for construction. Your duties include coordinating the design intent throughout the construction set, participating in construction administration, evaluating bids, performing site visits, addressing technical challenges, and maintaining quality control on‑site. You will also liaise with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory bodies to achieve project goals. • Produce precise construction documents and ensure design intent is reflected throughout project sets. • Lead construction administration tasks, including bid review, site inspections, and on‑site quality control. • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, spec writers, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives. • Communicate design concepts using hand sketches, 3‑D renderings, and software tools such as Revit and Rhino. • Apply Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) to enhance presentation and documentation.

What You Bring
Hand sketches and 3‑D renderings will be employed to convey design concepts effectively. Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop is essential for producing clear, compelling documentation. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program and three to six years of professional experience, preferably in commercial base‑building projects. Candidates should be familiar with building codes, zoning, materials, specifications, and construction techniques, and have experience preparing construction documents and conducting field observations. LEED accreditation is a plus, as is exposure to commercial interiors, multifamily, historic adaptive reuse, or hospitality projects. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with 3–6 years of commercial design experience. • Possess knowledge of building codes, zoning, materials, specifications, and LEED accreditation (preferred).
