About the Role
The role involves operating various power‑driven machinery to move dirt and other materials. Equipment may include backhoes, bulldozers, cranes, draglines, front‑end loaders, motor graders, cherry pickers, dump trucks, and similar machines. • Set up and operate production equipment per guidelines. • Adjust machine settings to meet specifications accurately and timely. • Control diesel, electric, gasoline, or steam-powered equipment via hand and foot levers. • Interpret hand signals to place materials. • Operate equipment on uneven surfaces as needed. • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation. • Perform routine maintenance or repairs. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required. • Observe load hook‑up and assess load safety. • Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction per instructions. • Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanisms. • Inspect crane for defects, document, and notify supervisor. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment. • Interpret load charts as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in the field or a related area. They must understand common concepts, practices, and procedures, follow instructions and established guidelines, and work under direct supervision without independent judgment. Reporting is typically to a supervisor or manager. The position requires standing, walking, and sitting for most of the shift, with occasional lifting of up to 10 lb, carrying, pushing, and pulling forces. Frequent actions include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering.
