About the Role

In this role you will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with variance analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform journal entries and reconciliations, and execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures within deadlines. You will also assist with long‑term forecasts, budget development, analyse financial trends to produce executive dashboards, manage fixed‑asset records and depreciation, and support audit activities including ASAE 3402 compliance. Additional responsibilities include uploading sales data, finalising turnover rent calculations, processing supplier invoices, managing daily receipting and following up on exceptions with the Property Management team, and providing financial guidance to operations to identify opportunities for streamlining processes. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis. • Maintain general ledger, journal entries, balance sheet and bank reconciliations. • Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures on schedule. • Assist in 10‑year forecasts, budget development and quarterly forecasting. • Analyze financial trends and KPIs to create executive dashboards and provide insights. • Manage fixed‑asset records, depreciation calculations, and tenant wash‑ups. • Support year‑end and ASAE 3402 audit activities ensuring compliance. • Upload sales data, calculate turnover rent and process supplier invoices. • Oversee daily receipting, resolve exceptions with Property Management. • Provide financial guidance to operations and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

What You Bring

We are seeking an Accountant to join our team at one of Melbourne’s premier mixed‑use precincts. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the finance team delivering the client’s property accounting tasks on time, while liaising with internal stakeholders and the client. This on‑site role in Melbourne CBD requires strong communication, attention to detail and analytical thinking to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate holds a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, is studying toward a CA or CPA, and has prior property accounting experience, preferably with offices or retail. Experience with Yardi or similar asset‑management software, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks under competing deadlines are essential. • Hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance; CA/CPA studies advantageous. • Prior property accounting experience, preferably office/retail. • Experience with Yardi or similar asset‑management software. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and in a team.
