About the Role

• Lead quality system on medium‑to‑large projects across Phoenix, Denver, and Salt Lake City. • Implement the Quality Management Plan from project start to final acceptance. • Establish and drive quality‑control initiatives and corrective actions. • Review project plans to ensure compliance with quality requirements. • Manage quality events, punch lists, and non‑conformance notices. • Resolve issues independently or with project leadership guidance. • Oversee third‑party design and testing agencies. • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, conducting quality program reviews. • Coach and mentor field and project engineers, supporting career development.

What You Bring

Mortenson seeks an experienced Quality Manager to oversee the quality system on medium to large projects across Phoenix, Denver, and Salt Lake City. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels, staying flexible in a changing environment, and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and proactive problem‑solving are essential. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship; Mortenson does not provide sponsorship. The posting will remain open for at least five days, and the company does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related engineering or management. • Possess at least three years of experience leading a project’s quality system. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Understand basic construction law and standard business practices. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier. • Exhibit a positive, professional attitude with strong customer‑service skills. • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, or Mortenson’s Quality System. • Experience with issue management and work inspection. • Completed basic project‑management and supervisory training. • Maintain a current driver’s license and willingness to travel >50% of time.
