About the Role

We’re looking for a GIS Technical Advisor to join our team and play a vital role in strengthening the UK’s energy network. In this critical position, you’ll be responsible for the safe and timely installation, testing, and maintenance of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) across the UK, helping deliver reliable, sustainable energy solutions. After completing a comprehensive training program, you’ll take ownership of projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal results in line with Hitachi Energy’s world‑class standards. How you’ll make an impact: Take ownership of the coordination and execution of on‑site installation and maintenance activities. Use your working knowledge of GIS to make informed technical decisions. Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects safely and successfully. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement quality‑assurance measures to minimize risks. Build relationships with customers, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure high satisfaction. Prepare field‑related reports, protocols, and updates on site progress. What You Bring

Your background: HNC or equivalent in electro‑mechanical engineering. Experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution (or transferable skills). Desirable GIS installation certification, with technical training provided. Proven leadership abilities and capability to motivate teams. Strong analytical and proactive problem‑solving skills to handle project challenges. • Make technical decisions using GIS knowledge. • Hold an HNC or equivalent in electro‑mechanical engineering. • Experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution (or transferable skills). • Desirable GIS installation certification (training provided). • Demonstrated leadership and team‑management abilities. • Strong analytical and proactive problem‑solving skills.
