About the Role

Within our consulting business we combine practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in every project. The role involves directing strategic delivery plans, influencing strategy implementation and managing key stakeholder relationships, while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and effective commercial practices. You will be accountable for coordinating and delivering a major construction programme, establishing the appropriate delivery environment, and assembling the right team with the necessary skills and technical competence. The position also requires optimizing resources, monitoring performance, leading executive‑level engagement, and maintaining exceptional standards of safety, quality, cost, schedule, sustainability and governance. • Direct and deliver major construction projects, aligning with strategic vision. • Define and implement a comprehensive project delivery environment (people, processes, technology). • Assemble and lead high‑performing project teams with the required expertise. • Optimize resources and improve performance against bid baselines. • Manage executive stakeholder engagement and governance structures. • Lead client relationship management and act as the programme’s public face. • Ensure safety, quality, cost, schedule, sustainability and compliance standards are met. • Oversee programme documentation, reporting and lessons‑learned processes. • Foster an inclusive, high‑performing team culture. • Implement effective risk management and mitigation strategies. • Leverage Mace centres of excellence and promote knowledge sharing. • Drive commercial viability, debt collection and regulatory compliance. • Full oversight of external project budgets and internal fee budgets.

What You Bring

The successful candidate must have a proven track‑record of delivering large new‑build projects, advanced technical knowledge of project management controls and governance, and full oversight of both external project budgets and internal fee budgets. Experience in risk and opportunity management, strong analytical capabilities across estimating, scheduling and contract administration, and professional membership with bodies such as MAPM, MRICS, MICE or CIOB are essential. Strong leadership, the ability to create an inclusive high‑performing team, and excellent communication skills with senior clients and stakeholders are required. A growth mindset, commitment to safety and net‑zero carbon objectives, and a drive for innovation in digital and low‑carbon solutions will be valued. • Proven delivery of large new‑build construction projects. • Advanced knowledge of project management controls, governance and procedures. • Strong risk and opportunity management expertise. • Excellent analytical, estimating, scheduling and contract administration skills. • Professional membership (e.g., MAPM, MRICS, MICE, CIOB) and relevant qualifications. • Leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary teams. • Highly effective communicator with senior stakeholder gravitas. • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. • Growth mindset promoting collaboration and best‑practice sharing. • Innovative approach to digital, data and low‑carbon solutions.
