About the Role
• Provide on-site support to the Florida Department of Transportation Central Office. • Maintain and enhance multimodal transportation asset management systems. • Enhance data analytics for asset management and traffic monitoring. • Develop metadata and documentation for federal reporting and state business needs. • Improve ETL operations for roadway and traffic data. • Streamline manual and automated workflows for roadway asset feature extraction. • Apply AI/ML to aerial and street‑level imagery for asset extraction. • Integrate roadway asset data into GIS. • Write scripts/programs to automate functions in desktop or web GIS environments. • Support the Department’s Digital Asset Management initiative. • Assist in developing and maintaining custom GIS tools, extensions, and applications. • Provide project management, administrative, and technical support. • Conduct quality assurance activities. • Lead outreach and training for data awareness, education, collaboration, and capacity building. • Participate in public information meetings and hearings.

What You Bring
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online. • Proficiency with FME or similar ETL tools. • Knowledge of Oracle Spatial or SQL Server Spatial for back‑end data processing. • Web‑based application development skills. • Relational database management expertise. • AI/ML experience. • Remote sensing or computer vision background. • Asset management experience. • Familiarity with Snowflake and AWS cloud platforms. • Experience with SCADA/OT systems such as Cygnet, FlowCal, Enertia, or Field Data Capture tools. • Understanding of NIST cybersecurity framework, MITRE ATT&CK, and data governance best practices. • Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience. • At least 5 years with data engineering tools/languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas). • At least 5 years with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib). • At least 5 years with data science languages (Python, R). • Strong self‑motivation, detail orientation, and multitasking ability. • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook) and handling confidential information. • Excellent written and verbal communication, including grammar and proofreading. • Strong math, organizational, and prioritization skills in fast‑paced settings. • Experience leading complex data science projects and mentoring junior scientists. • Ability to set strategic direction for data management, science practices, and technology planning.
