About the Role
The Project Lead oversees all aspects of a project from contract signing through completion and closeout, serving as the primary point of contact for the customer while minimizing involvement from other team members; this is a nonexempt, individual contributor position. The role manages fully designed and engineered projects of varying complexity, including PV‑only systems, utility upgrades, new construction, ground‑mount installations, high‑profile projects, and multi‑energy storage units. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary customer contact from contract execution through permission to operate, translating technical information between homeowners, engineers, and field teams, conducting project kick‑off calls, preparing and executing change orders, coordinating funding requests, interfacing with utilities for service upgrades and inspections, overseeing subcontractors and internal labor teams, managing installation scheduling, maintaining accurate records, meeting production goals, and performing overtime as needed. • Manage fully designed solar projects, including PV‑only systems, utility upgrades, new construction, ground mounts, and energy storage units. • Serve as primary customer contact from contract execution through permission to operate, communicating scope, milestones, timelines, and onsite updates. • Translate technical information between homeowners, engineers, and field teams. • Conduct project kick‑off calls to confirm scope and timelines. • Prepare, present, and execute change orders; update the project management platform. • Coordinate funding requests for lease/loan projects. • Interface with utilities for service upgrades, inspections, PTO, and energization. • Oversee subcontractors and coordinate work with internal field operations and labor teams. • Manage scheduling with homeowners and internal departments to meet installation timelines. • Maintain accurate project records and ensure monthly and annual production goals are met. • Perform overtime as required to meet department and company needs.

What You Bring
In the first 30 days the hire will familiarize themselves with Baker Home Energy processes and timelines, in the first 60 days they will manage TaskRay, tasking, and administration effectively, and by 90 days they will be fully trained and proficient in all aspects of project management. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (some college preferred), at least three years of project coordination or management experience in the solar industry, proven success leading multiple projects, construction industry experience preferred, strong customer service and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, and project management training or certification as a plus. Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities encompass technical expertise in electrical, solar, energy storage, new construction, and ground‑mount projects, as well as strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, problem‑solving, and high‑quality customer service skills; the work environment is onsite. • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred. • Minimum three years project coordination or management experience in the solar industry. • Proven ability to lead coordination of multiple projects successfully. • Construction industry experience preferred. • Strong customer service and clear communication with diverse audiences. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. • Project management training or certification is a plus. • Technical knowledge of electrical, solar, energy storage, new construction, and ground‑mount projects. • Strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, problem‑solving, and high‑quality customer service skills.
