About the Role
The specialist will champion a strong safety culture, engage personnel in safety activities, and provide timely technical support. Regular workplace inspections will be conducted to monitor compliance with site rules and procedures, and job safety analyses, risk assessments, and pre-task plans will be coordinated. The role also includes preparing and submitting local, state, and internal safety reports, reviewing investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, non-injury accidents and near-misses, and leading investigations into serious adverse events. Safety performance will be monitored and analyzed, with corrective actions initiated to address trends. The specialist will also coordinate local business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans, developing and testing these plans as needed. • Champion safety culture and engage personnel in safety activities. • Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with site rules and procedures. • Coordinate job safety analyses, risk assessments, and pre-task plans. • Prepare and submit local, state, and internal safety reports as required. • Review and track investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, non-injury accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes. • Lead investigations of serious adverse events. • Monitor safety performance trends and initiate corrective actions. • Develop, test, and coordinate business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans.

What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering or a related field is preferred, along with at least five years of health-and-safety experience in construction and two years of data-center construction experience. CHST/CSP certification is a plus. Candidates must be proficient in managing high-risk activities such as electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, material handling, and crane operations, and have experience working with subcontractors and trades like electricians, ironworkers, and pipefitters. Additional qualifications include understanding multi-employer worksite complexities, experience training on construction safety topics, conducting site safety audits and inspections, and leading incident investigations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for timely reporting. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related field (preferred). • Minimum five years of H&S experience in construction, with two years in data‑center projects preferred. • CHST/CSP certification is a plus. • Proficient in managing high‑risk activities such as electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, material handling, and crane operations. • Experience collaborating with subcontractors and trades like electricians, ironworkers, and pipefitters. • Skilled trainer on construction safety topics and experienced in conducting site safety audits and inspections. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for timely reporting.
