About the Role
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and information • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for materials and services • Participate in bid meetings and presentations, providing insights into the estimation process and the rationale behind pricing decisions • Utilize industry-standard software and tools (McCormick, BLUEBEAM) to generate estimates, ensuring precision and consistency in the estimation process • Collaborate with the Engineering and Project Management Teams to clarify any ambiguities and gather necessary information for accurate estimation • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and other associated expenses • Review and analyze project plans, specifications (including drawings and schedules), and other relevant documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project's scope and requirements • Prepare regular reports and summaries on cost tracking and estimating accuracy • Share insights and best practices with the team to enhance overall estimating capabilities • Collaborate with the bid team to develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and specifications

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field/equivalent experience is preferred • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • Highly motivated team player • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite • Practical knowledge of construction (new & renovation) • Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software and tools (McCormack, Bluebeam) • Familiarity with the local construction market and regulations is advantageous • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, materials, and methodologies • Proven experience as an electrical estimator in the construction industry, preferably with expertise in electrical systems and installations • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in electrical estimating • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail
