About the Role

The primary objective is to mark, position, and secure structural steel members that reinforce concrete or building structures. • Setting up, flagging, and inspecting a crane • Inspecting rigging properly • Running a site level • Checking in truck deliveries against bill of lading when load arrives • Counting bars and bundles of rebar, dobies, and wire mesh • Directing forklift/crane to unload delivery truck • Shaking out rebar and distributing/organizing accordingly • Using pliers to tie rebar intersections with tie wire • Cutting excess rebar ends and miscellaneous pieces with gas cut saw or cutting torch • Installing mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding ends together • Installing caps on vertical rebar dowels for safety • Installing rebar dowels into fresh concrete footings • Determining number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions • Bending steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machine • Reinforcing concrete with wire mesh • Ornamental ironworker: installing prefabricated ornamental ironwork • Receiving and offloading all major components • Installing loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation • Connecting blades to hub • Setting base and tower sections • Managing taglines • Involved with main erection crane assembly and teardown • Follow work rules and procedures • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment

What You Bring

Successful candidates demonstrate strong teamwork, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and load charts. They must be comfortable operating equipment, performing basic math, and working both independently and within a team while following directions and workplace procedures. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess any required equipment certifications, have a valid driver’s license, and preferably bring at least one year of related experience. • Splicing mats or rebar sections together with short rebar dowels • Understanding building codes/requirements • Climbing ladders – average 80m • Strong teamwork orientation • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills • Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts • Knowledge of equipment and their uses • Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication) • Ability to work independently • Punctual and consistent attendance • Accept constructive feedback • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs • High school diploma or GED • Equipment certifications as required • 1 year of related experience preferred • Valid driver’s license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
