About the Role

At MasTec Communications Group we build for the future. As a Fiber Splicer you will develop new skills, work in a safety‑minded environment and help expand technology for a better community. You’ll provide high‑quality service to customers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety. The role involves producing end‑to‑end fiber optic networks on outdoor utility construction sites. You’ll operate testing equipment, splice enclosures and perform troubleshooting to ensure network continuity. • Test and troubleshoot fiber optic network continuity • Operate OTDR, OLTS, power meters and handle DWDM/CWDM wavelengths • Prepare fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.) using a fusion splicer • Read fiber design documentation and calculate light levels and dB loss • Perform work on outdoor utility construction sites, including ladder and bucket‑truck operations

What You Bring

Candidates must have 3‑5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience, be comfortable working on ladders or bucket trucks, and demonstrate a safety‑first mindset. The position offers long‑term projects, varied shifts with overtime, and a collaborative team environment. • 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience • Strong safety focus and proven high‑quality work record • Hands‑on problem‑solving ability for complex issues • Comfortable working at heights on ladders or bucket trucks • Relevant MOS codes (V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, 5699) are a plus

Compensation ranges from $75,000 to $125,000 annually plus a sign‑on bonus.
