About the Role

Interns work alongside the on‑staff engineering team to address daily production needs and drive value improvements. Responsibilities include basic analysis and testing, setting up tests to verify functionality, strength and safety, designing prototype parts and assemblies, and creating detailed engineering documentation using SolidWorks and Microsoft Office. The role also involves researching components, contacting suppliers, and contributing to continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment. • Partner with team members from global locations (over 50 manufacturing sites worldwide) • Perform work with on‑staff Engineering Team focusing on daily production needs and value improvements • Conduct basic analysis and testing; set up and administer tests to verify functionality, strength, safety • Design prototype parts, assemblies, product sketches and drawings • Create detailed engineering documentation using SolidWorks and Microsoft Office • Research components and contact suppliers • Work on continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment • Provide real‑work assignments to gain valuable experience

What You Bring

Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and be capable of organizing and completing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Required skills include strong attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency with CAD/SolidWorks. Desired competencies encompass Excel and PowerPoint experience, excellent verbal and written communication, a strong safety and quality focus, commitment to lean manufacturing, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities. • Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines • Attention to detail and accuracy • Proficiency with CAD/SolidWorks • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint (nice to have) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions
