About the Role
The BIM Designer reports to the Director of VDC/BIM Services and will develop, coordinate, and review BIM models for complex construction projects, applying intermediate Revit and Navisworks skills, conducting quality checks, mentoring peers, and supporting project teams to ensure accurate, constructible models aligned with standards. The role involves creating and maintaining central Revit and Navisworks models, managing sheets, views, legends, schedules, and organizing Revit families, templates, and filters, as well as preparing construction documents, revisions, and record drawings. Responsibilities include leading clash detection and coordination meetings, conducting site visits to validate models, collaborating with project management and field teams, and supporting prefabrication by exporting layout files for field use. The designer will review team members’ work for accuracy, perform quality control checks, and ensure compliance with BIM execution plans, company protocols, and NEC requirements. Mentorship duties cover guiding junior staff, documenting updates and issues, communicating solutions to project leads, sharing lessons learned, and promoting workflow improvements. Technical innovation tasks involve applying advanced Revit MEP features, creating families, electrical modeling, using reality capture, digital layout, 3D scanning, and recommending efficiency improvements. • Develop and coordinate BIM models in Revit and Navisworks, managing central files, sheets, views, legends, and schedules. • Import, organize, and maintain Revit families, templates, and project filters; prepare construction documents and record drawings. • Lead clash detection, coordination meetings, and field validation visits to ensure constructability. • Collaborate with project management and field teams, supporting prefabrication and exporting layout files. • Conduct quality assurance reviews, verify team output, and enforce BIM execution plans and NEC standards. • Mentor junior staff, document updates, communicate solutions, and promote workflow improvements. • Apply advanced Revit MEP features, create families, perform electrical modeling, and utilize reality capture and 3D scanning tools.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years Revit/BIM experience (or 7+ years in electrical construction), intermediate knowledge of Revit and Navisworks, proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud, advanced Revit MEP, BIM execution plans, Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, digital layout and scanning tools, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative, leadership‑oriented attitude. Travel 5–10% and onsite work may be required; experience in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical projects is preferred. • Possess 3+ years of Revit/BIM experience (or 7+ years in electrical construction) and intermediate Revit/Navisworks knowledge. • Proficient with Autodesk Construction Cloud, advanced Revit MEP, BIM execution plans, Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, and digital layout tools. • Strong problem‑solving, communication, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities; willingness to travel 5–10% and work onsite.
