What You Bring

Technicians at Republic Services are essential for maintaining fleet performance and quality, handling routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. The Technician Apprenticeship program trains entry‑level technicians over two years in areas such as electrical diagnosis, HVAC, wheel ends, air systems, air brakes, and hydraulics. Success in this role requires logical problem‑solving, enthusiasm for vehicle engineering, and a commitment to continuous learning while embodying the company’s values. Throughout the program, apprentices receive hands‑on experience in basic preventive maintenance, including tire work, wheel‑end components, hydraulics, and electrical systems, under direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. A dedicated mentor supports milestone achievement, helping apprentices transition smoothly to full‑time technician roles within the company. Candidates must commit to the two‑year program, demonstrate logical problem‑solving skills, and be flexible to work nights, weekends, or holidays. They must travel to Dallas for the initial training, live on‑site with subsidized housing, and be willing to relocate nationwide after graduation. Training begins on March 23 2026, with a pay increase upon completion and placement at a designated location such as the Marion, IL Fleet Maintenance Shop. • Leadership development, life skills, and wellness training.
