About the Role

• Maintain and repair piping, valves, insulation, and system components. • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques. • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on light commercial chillers, air handlers, pumps, and related HVAC equipment. • Collaborate with Facilities team members to support preventive maintenance programs. • Support seasonal startup/shutdown of equipment and respond to after-hours or emergency calls, as needed. • Maintain accurate service records, logs, and reports using CMMS or other software tools. • Monitor and adjust control systems to optimize performance and energy efficiency. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to refrigeration and HVAC systems.

What You Bring

• Trade school or HVAC technical certification. • Experience in institutional or large commercial facility environments. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with light commercial HVAC/chiller systems. • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with air-cooled chillers, closed loop hydronics, air-side components (VMA, FCU), and control systems. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. • Familiarity with building automation systems (e.g., Metasys, iVu) as a tool for troubleshooting. • High school diploma or GED. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred). • Working knowledge of energy efficiency practices and sustainability initiatives. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions (indoors/outdoors, heights, confined spaces).
