About the Role
Within the central Manufacturing Services team for Civil Aerospace Manufacturing Operations, the function safeguards safe, capable, compliant and available assets, reducing customer disruption and supporting a safe workplace. The manager enables functional capability for operational excellence through people, processes, tools, service contracts and continuous improvement, designing and deploying standards while shaping a culture of ongoing enhancement. Key accountabilities include implementing HSE policies, ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance, developing specialist technical expertise, leveraging IT and digital tools for performance monitoring, seeking industry best practice and innovative technologies, solving complex problems, influencing stakeholders, sharing best practice across boundaries, providing technical coaching, supporting procurement and financial activities, managing supplier relationships, leading global Communities of Practice, and delivering outcomes aligned with customer, project and service objectives. • Partner with cross‑functional teams to meet business objectives. • Define and execute functional strategies and standards. • Implement HSE policies and ensure regulatory compliance. • Drive continuous improvement through best‑practice adoption. • Utilize digital tools (CMMS, Power BI) to monitor service performance. • Lead innovation initiatives by integrating emerging technologies. • Solve complex technical challenges and influence stakeholder decisions. • Coach and mentor Manufacturing Services personnel. • Manage procurement activities and supplier relationships. • Establish and run global Communities of Practice for knowledge sharing.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold an engineering degree or equivalent and possess deep knowledge of manufacturing services, health‑and‑safety legislation, and CMMS platforms such as IBM Maximo and Power BI. Experience in process, machinery or functional safety, programme management of transformation projects, and familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies are desirable. Proven delivery of business results, strong corporate leadership behaviours, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to collaborate across a wide network are essential. Self‑motivation, remote‑team experience, and a commitment to personal leadership development are also valued. • Hold an engineering degree or comparable qualification. • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing services, HSE legislation, and CMMS platforms. • Experience delivering transformation programmes and applying Lean/Six Sigma methods. • Strong communication, influencing, and leadership capabilities.
