About the Role

The role supports planning, management, and execution of all field activities for mechanical and electrical (MEP) systems. The incumbent reports to the MEP Superintendent. Key responsibilities include coordinating field activities with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owners, as well as developing comprehensive MEP schedules covering engineering through turnover. The employee monitors work progress against the schedule, approves subcontractor payment requisitions, oversees subcontractor compliance, and pre‑plans field activities to keep work areas ready. Additional duties involve tracking manpower allocation, optimizing work sequences between mechanical, electrical, and other trades, supporting start‑up, testing, commissioning, closeout, and turnover, and contributing to the quality‑control plan. Work is performed on construction sites where employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated areas, fumes, weather conditions, and potential electrical hazards, with noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud. • Coordinate field activities and information exchange among engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, Turner staff, and owners. • Develop MEP system schedules covering engineering, coordination, installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and turnover. • Benchmark and monitor work progress against the project schedule. • Approve subcontractor monthly payment requisitions, ensuring appropriate funds and manpower. • Oversee subcontractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents and approved submittals. • Pre‑plan field activities to keep work areas ready according to schedule. • Monitor manpower allocation and record schedule progress with loading. • Optimize work sequences between mechanical, electrical, and other trades; resolve system conflicts. • Support start‑up, testing, commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities. • Assist in developing and implementing the quality control plan.

The position is located in Baltimore, MD, within Turner Construction’s Maryland division. It is a regular, experienced‑level, salaried exempt role in the Construction job family. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent), at least two years of relevant experience, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, organizational ability, computer proficiency, and a team‑player mindset.
