About the Role

You will provide cost‑management services from inception to completion across various sectors, overseeing feasibility studies, procurement strategies, cost planning and valuation of works. The role also includes guiding contract administration, managing cost control, reporting and supporting the evaluation of claims and certificates of completion. • Lead feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection. • Produce and manage procurement reports. • Apply value‑management techniques at project outset. • Manage estimating, cost planning and present final cost plans. • Oversee full procurement cycle: pre‑qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation. • Supervise preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licences and support execution. • Advise on administration of building contract terms. • Measure work valuations and ensure accurate cost checking. • Provide cost control and produce monthly post‑contract cost reports for clients. • Identify and track costs from design changes, contract awards and construction activities. • Evaluate contractor claims for delays and additional costs. • Advise on issuance of defect‑making‑good certificates and final completion documentation. • Manage issuance of practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts. • Lead and coach a team of Cost Consultants, overseeing performance management. • Drive improvements in systems and processes, delivering transformational change. • Mentor and train team members to up‑skill capabilities. • Share technical and functional expertise across the team. • Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships. • Influence senior stakeholders to achieve project objectives. • Implement continuous improvement plans and identify business enhancements. • Support net‑zero carbon transition by managing associated emissions and reductions. • Provide contract administration and management advice.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, social value and carbon‑reduction issues, coupled with expert knowledge of industry best practice, value engineering and life‑cycle costing. A degree in quantity surveying or cost management and professional membership such as MRICS/RICS are required, along with detailed knowledge of contracts, contract law and relevant sector expertise. • Apply strong knowledge of sustainability, social value and carbon reduction. • Utilise expertise in value engineering and life‑cycle costing. • Maintain detailed knowledge of contract forms and contractual frameworks. • Hold a degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent). • Possess professional membership (e.g., MRICS/RICS) or equivalent qualification. • Demonstrate sector‑specific expertise and relevant technical certifications.
