About the Role

The System Designer III will deliver design, engineering, modeling, drafting, and budgeting support for low‑voltage technology projects across North America. This role also assists design leadership in developing standards, templates, families, and processes, while collaborating with customers, estimators, engineers, and sales teams to ensure successful project outcomes. • Coordinate with customers (end users, architects, contractors, engineers) to understand needs and produce detailed low‑voltage system designs. • Host and attend meetings on behalf of Paladin, take and distribute accurate notes, and follow up on action items. • Work with estimators and engineers across North America to develop budgets, design requirements, and scopes of work for low‑voltage systems. • Collaborate with sales teams and project sponsors to ensure client expectations are met. • Prepare detailed budgets using technical estimating resources as needed. • Perform electronic takeoffs with Bluebeam software. • Manage project billing, cash flow, cost projections, and schedules for assigned designs. • Create technology systems flow line diagrams. • Develop security riser, door, and mounting diagrams. • Develop network diagrams. • Draft and model designs using Autodesk CAD and Revit as required. • Provide clear CAD requests and feedback to Paladin’s drafters and BIM modelers. • Conduct peer reviews of designs and documentation from other teams. • Participate in kickoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from design to build. • Perform construction administration on assigned design projects. • Offer advice and support to estimators, engineers, project managers, and other Paladin staff. • Provide professional support to customers via phone, email, or in person. • Guide junior team members. • Manage multiple communications platforms (email, MS Teams) professionally. • Increase AV & Security Systems knowledge regularly throughout the year. • Increase networking knowledge regularly throughout the year. • Maintain industry certifications such as CTS, CSPM, etc.

What You Bring

• Specialize in one low‑voltage trade while pursuing cross‑discipline training. • Stay current with voice/data cabling systems knowledge. • Update knowledge of product offerings for video management, AV control, cameras, access control, and other low‑voltage components. • Develop superior communication, approachability, emotional maturity, listening, adaptability, and interpersonal skills. • 5+ years of design experience. • 5+ years in low‑voltage or technology industry, primarily structured cabling. • Experience using Revit. • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, MS Teams, and MS Project. • RCDD, CTS, PSP, or other low‑voltage design certifications highly preferred. • Effectively communicate (see, hear, speak, write) and perform occasional manual dexterity tasks.
