About the Role

• Build wooded structures, such as stairs, concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters, according to blueprints or oral instructions, and lay out and install partitions and cabinet work. • Examine blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. • Select, load, and haul job material to work site. • Prepare layout of form or fixture to be fabricated using lines or grades. • Measure boards, timbers, or plywood using square, measuring tape and ruler; mark cutting lines and shape materials to required sizes using saws, chisels, and planes. • Verify accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square and level. • Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screw drivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars. • Nail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete‑supporting forms. • Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for building concrete piers, footings, and walls. • Erect frame work for structures and lay sub‑flooring. • Cut and assemble timbers to build trestles and cofferdams. • Erect scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways. • Construct forms, chutes, and align form panels for pouring concrete and grout. • Fit and install pre‑fabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim and finished hardware. • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities with tools and equipment. • Operate electric and pneumatic tools. • Rig materials as needed. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Compare and see differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.

What You Bring

Journeyman level craftsmen with at least three years of documented field experience in their trade are responsible for reading and interpreting instructions and independently planning, documenting, and performing work activities. They construct, fabricate, install, and dismantle form work and fixtures of metal, wood, and other accessories. The position demands frequent physical exertion, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and operating at heights. Workers must frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and use fine motor skills as indicated by the physical‑requirements symbols. • Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs of buildings; set and brace anchor bolts.
