About the Role
• Drive implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001, Downer’s Quality Principles and client requirements. • Conduct statewide audits, inspections and compliance checks to ensure system integrity and operational excellence. • Lead and mentor a small team to embed a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement across operations. • Champion Zero Harm by integrating safety, environmental and quality principles into all processes. • Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and subcontractors as the primary contact for quality and improvement matters. • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce rework and enhance efficiency. • Promote innovation through adoption of new technologies and best practices in quality management.

What You Bring
We are seeking an experienced Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead for our Walkley Heights office. In this role you will upskill operational teams and quality communities in The Downer Standards (TDS), drive continuous improvement and support the business and projects with effective implementation of quality systems. • Proven experience in quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and auditing processes. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop team capability. • Expertise in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma desirable). • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to influence and drive quality outcomes. • Analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven reporting and trend analysis. • Qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management or related discipline (or equivalent experience) preferred. • Ability to travel and work hands‑on with teams.
