About the Role
As a Controls Systems Technician with Johnson Controls, you will perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems, and respond to basic warranty calls. Your duties include loading system-level controller software, conducting basic commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators, calibrating systems with basic electronic test equipment, and completing all required commissioning documentation. You will keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues, document changes for as‑built records, handle administrative tasks like timesheets and expense reports, communicate with the contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and adhere to all safety standards while attending required safety training. • Load system-level controller software and perform basic commissioning. • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues. • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment. • Complete commissioning documentation, timesheets, expense reports, and on-site paperwork. • Communicate job progress to management, contractors, and customers. • Follow all safety standards and attend required training. • Use hand and power tools (drills, saws, etc.) safely and effectively. • Test and troubleshoot circuits with a multimeter; licensing may be required for low-voltage work.

What You Bring
The role requires basic computer skills, technical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools, attention to detail, good communication and listening abilities, and basic knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems; preferred qualifications include low‑voltage wiring skills, multimeter testing ability, HVAC experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Visio, with possible licensing requirements for low‑voltage work. • Apply basic computer skills; experience with Excel and Visio preferred. • Possess basic knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems; low-voltage wiring skills preferred.
