About the Role
WSP USA’s Advisory practice delivers business and operational solutions across the full lifecycle of infrastructure assets, blending engineering expertise with management‑consulting leadership. The Associate Program rotates early‑career professionals through a variety of practices and services, fostering development as well‑rounded consultants and ultimately placing them in the practice that best matches their strengths. Associates focus on the strategic development and management of infrastructure across transportation, water, buildings, energy, and environment sectors. Project work spans funding and finance, organizational design, alternative delivery, economic analysis, research, data analytics, financial modeling, policy development, and asset management for both public and private clients. The position offers direct interaction with industry thought leaders on high‑visibility projects throughout the United States. • Analyze needs and opportunities • Research and report on industry trends • Evaluate alternatives and priorities • Develop business cases for infrastructure investments • Write reports and grant applications • Support client meetings and workshops • Analyze project and program funding and financing options • Review and interpret legislation and guidance • Perform quantitative analyses and data analytics • Develop financial models • Provide strategic support throughout infrastructure planning and project development

What You Bring

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, research, and the ability to develop business cases for infrastructure investments while supporting client workshops and meetings. • Master’s degree in engineering, planning, business, data science, or related field (or Bachelor’s + 1‑3 yrs experience) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical, quantitative, and research capabilities • Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality work with minimal supervision • Team player who can synthesize problems and communicate results • Proactive, curious, and eager to explore new fields and network • Proficiency in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools • Interest or experience in infrastructure sectors • Proven workplace safety record and compliance with health, safety, and harassment policies • Preferred: Master’s degree and/or 1‑2 yrs relevant experience in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, policy, or economics • Familiarity with financial aspects of energy, water, property, buildings, mining, and other infrastructure • Software skills: GIS, programming, Power BI, Maximo, engineering software • Strong understanding of federal and state infrastructure policy and funding • Maximum experience: ≤2 yrs directly relevant or ≤4 yrs not directly relevant
