About the Role
The Quality Technician role is based in Mankato, MN and supports Rolls‑Royce's Power Systems Business Unit. Working in a hybrid environment, the technician helps maintain the highest production quality standards for gensets at the company facility and third‑party enclosure vendor sites, contributing to the company's reputation for brilliance and innovation. In this position, you will inspect incoming gensets for transport damage, conduct periodic storage and pre‑production audits, and perform final visual inspections using a quality checklist. Findings are documented, customer inspection paperwork is completed, and SAP quality notifications are created to record non‑conformances. You will also verify vendor corrective‑action processes, provide data for continuous‑improvement projects, monitor ship‑short loose parts, and keep management regularly informed of quality issues. • Witness receiving of gensets at enclosure vendors to inspect for transport damage. • Conduct periodic storage audits to check for packaging damage and preservation milestones. • Perform product audits prior to production to identify non‑conformances. • Execute final product visual inspections using a quality checklist. • Complete and submit customer inspection documentation. • Create Quality Notifications in SAP for recorded non‑conformances. • Confirm implementation of vendor 8D investigations and corrective actions. • Provide data for continuous improvement projects and supplier development. • Monitor receipt, storage, and utilization of ship‑short loose parts. • Deliver accurate, timely quality data to management and keep them updated. • Promote a compliance culture and adhere to the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and have either an associate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering or at least two years of experience in manufacturing or large‑equipment repair. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with hand tools and torque wrenches, ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, strong knowledge of parts in a large‑equipment environment, solid communication skills, basic measuring‑equipment knowledge, PC and MS Office proficiency, and familiarity with Rolls‑Royce RRPS components. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Associate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or 2 years relevant experience. • Experience with hand tools and torque wrenches. • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications. • Strong knowledge of parts and equipment in large‑equipment manufacturing. • Good communication and interpersonal skills across all organization levels. • Basic knowledge of measuring equipment. • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office Suite. • Knowledge of Rolls‑Royce RRPS components and products.
