About the Role

• Lead delivery of rail and civil engineering projects, overseeing design, procurement, construction, and handover phases. • Coordinate project management, technical services, and external resources for client organisations. • Collaborate with clients, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project expectations and strategic objectives. • Apply Mace’s Safety First principles, conduct safety moments, and adhere to the HSW framework. • Provide subject‑matter expertise from Mace’s broader project teams to optimise outcomes. • Procure and manage design consultants, monitor scope, fees, claims, deliverables and variations. • Produce and integrate design and authority programmes with procurement and delivery schedules. • Manage project timelines, budgets, risks and mitigations, ensuring KPIs are achieved. • Implement robust quality systems and Service Excellence standards. • Lead meetings, record minutes and disseminate relevant analysis. • Drive risk management, mitigation treatments and change control processes. • Ensure handover documentation is completed before practical completion. • Promote Mace priorities in Construction to Production, Digital & Data, and Responsible Business.

What You Bring

• Hold APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification. • Minimum five years’ experience delivering capital rail infrastructure projects using NEC contracts. • Proven track record managing programmes exceeding £10 million and leading diverse project teams. • Strong commercial and financial acumen. • Experience building senior stakeholder relationships. • Understanding of carbon and sustainability impacts on rail projects.
