About the Role

• Develop civil/structural designs and design proposals for new or modified facilities. • Create structural analysis models, finite element analyses, and simulations for systems including piping supports, roads, drainage, HPIW, foundations, and ground improvement. • Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates using design software. • Review vendor/contractor submittals and RFIs to progress designs to construction. • Perform engineering analyses per ACI, ASCE, AISC, IBC codes utilizing industry software. • Operate surveying equipment and scanning technology while multitasking across multiple projects. • Maintain quality, safety, and professional appearance in all work activities.

What You Bring

The position follows an onsite work model and may require occasional travel to support projects at the Michoud Assembly Facility. Work conditions include physical effort such as standing, sitting, walking, and detail work, with occasional risk of injury due to hazards. • Communicate effectively, influence change, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. • Demonstrate knowledge of ASCE, ANSI/AISC, ACI, IBC, AASHTO codes and related standards. • Proficient with RISA, STAAD, EnerCalc, Hilti Profis, ANSYS, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil3D. • U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a NASA badge. • Pass background check, drug screen, and provide certified citizenship documentation at hire. • Preferably have four years of related experience; FE/EI designation within one year is a plus. • Willingness to travel occasionally to NASA Michoud Assembly Facility for project support.
