About the Role

The Vice President of Software Engineering will lead the technology integration of acquired companies, overseeing platforms, applications, data, and development teams. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the role works closely with the CEO, CFO, CTO and senior product leaders to define integration strategies, drive execution, and deliver scalable solutions that support growth. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia and follows a hybrid schedule of four days on‑site and one day remote. It also serves as a player‑coach, mentoring engineering leaders and ensuring successful post‑acquisition transitions. • Lead end‑to‑end technology integration of acquired platforms, applications, data, and teams. • Create and execute integration roadmaps, timelines, and success metrics with executive stakeholders. • Assess acquired technology assets and recommend consolidation, migration, or enhancement strategies. • Identify and mitigate integration risks while ensuring projects stay on scope and schedule. • Act as a player‑coach, managing multiple engineering teams across concurrent projects. • Mentor and develop engineering leaders from acquired companies to retain top talent. • Partner with recruiting to attract, hire, and onboard senior engineering talent. • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within integration teams. • Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders. • Maintain deep knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and emerging technologies.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. • 10+ years leading large‑scale software development and integration in high‑growth or acquisitive environments. • Proven track record of post‑acquisition technology platform and team integrations. • Experience overseeing multi‑team, multi‑discipline software product projects. • Strong experience managing and coaching senior engineers and engineering managers. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including CEO‑level interactions. • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, negotiate, and motivate cross‑functional teams. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities with attention to detail.
