About the Role
The role, based in Calumet City, Illinois, supervises a team of Systems Engineers and Designers responsible for hardware engineering, software development, and network‑level commissioning on major and branch projects. As the local application‑engineering expert, the incumbent ensures all work complies with state, local, and federal regulations and upholds the highest ethical standards. Key responsibilities include managing and scheduling the engineering workload, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating project timelines while providing cost and time estimates for job‑cost evaluation. The leader develops and enforces engineering processes, standards, and strategies, seeks innovative techniques, and drives improvements in tools, equipment, and facilities to enhance quality, reliability, and productivity. The position also involves selecting controllers and end devices to minimize installation costs, maintaining strong relationships with customers, consultants, and architects, and ensuring maximum reuse of proven designs. What You Bring
Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) with at least five years of application‑engineering experience, supervisory experience, and progressive responsibility in the construction industry; a master’s degree or Professional Engineer registration is highly desired. They are recognized experts in core engineering competencies, understand accounting and cost management principles, and possess strong oral and written communication skills for technical presentations. • Present technical material clearly in oral and written communications. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) with at least five years of application‑engineering experience. • Minimum five years of progressive responsibility in construction and supervisory experience. • Master’s degree or Professional Engineer registration highly desired. • Recognized expertise in core engineering competencies and cost management.
