About the Role
In this position you will analyse, develop and demonstrate new electrical power system technologies for customers across all business sectors, contribute to the company’s electrical systems strategy and coordinate research with Electrical Technology Partners worldwide. You will also collaborate with internal supply‑chain units to help shape the future supply chain for electrical commodities. • Identify, develop, and implement innovative power generation and distribution technology solutions. • Define clear product specifications and performance requirements in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, systems teams and suppliers. • Lead project definition, capturing requirements, creating proposals, securing stakeholder approval and funding, and aligning partner support. • Resolve technical, compliance, and business problems using analytical processes and professional judgement. • Access internal and external specialist networks to enhance subject understanding and foster strategic collaborations. • Provide technical direction and leadership to peers, junior professionals, teams and projects within the specialty. • Support skill and knowledge development by defining capabilities, delivering training, mentoring and coaching others. • Establish, share, and enforce appropriate policies, standards, best practices, and knowledge‑sharing mechanisms.

What You Bring
We are looking for a professionally qualified engineer (minimum BEng, higher degree preferred) with aerospace electrical‑systems experience, strong technical writing skills and a solid background in developing, implementing and validating power‑system architectures and conversions. A systems‑thinking mindset, familiarity with systems‑engineering standards and model‑based approaches, and awareness of safety and reliability methods are essential. • UK‑qualified engineer (minimum BEng degree; higher degree preferred). • Experience in aerospace electrical systems design and integration. • Proven ability to write technical documents such as hardware requirements, product design specifications and schematic details. • Hands‑on experience developing, implementing and validating electrical power systems and sub‑systems with AC‑AC, AC‑DC and DC‑DC conversion stages. • Knowledge of electrical load analysis, fault‑tree analysis and impact assessment of system architecture on components and adjacent systems. • Systems‑thinking mindset and familiarity with systems‑engineering processes, tools and standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, ARP4754, etc.). • Experience applying Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) preferred. • Awareness of safety and reliability methods for novel concepts (FHA, DFMEA, HAZOP) preferred. • Ability to coordinate research activities with Electrical Technology Partners globally. • Strong collaboration skills to work with internal supply‑chain units and external partners.
